The statement went on to say that two weeks ago, when traumatic #MeToo stories began emerging, it was brought to the organisation’s attention that someone they were about to begin work with had been accused of sexual misconduct. Even though Aamir did not name the movie, it is believed that he is walking away from the Gulshan Kumar biopic Mogul that was to be directed by Subhash Kapoor. In 2014, Subhash had been accused of molestation by actor Geetika Tyagi, who had filed a complaint against him in 2012, saying that he tried to rape her.

Meanwhile, Aamir has completed shooting for Thugs of Hindostan, an epic action-adventure movie, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Lloyd Owen. The movie was written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, and produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films. It is set for release on November 8, 2018.
