Monkey Man Review: Netizens Call Dev Patel’s Film an ‘Intense Thrill Ride’

Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man has finally been released. The action-thriller film has so far received positive reviews from the audience. Following its worldwide release on Friday, the movie has received praise for its intense action sequences and compelling storyline. As the film has hit the big screens, several fans have taken to the micro-blogging site X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared reviews of the film.

While one fan wrote, “Just got out #MonkeyMan and oh my gosh! WHAT A THRILL RIDE,” another said, “MonkeyMan was a really damn great movie, man. Holy shit did Dev Patel cook, wonderful job for his directorial debut, the action sequences, writing, cinematography, pacing, VFX/SFX, etc.” Similarly, several fans have taken to X and shared their opinions.

During the film’s premiere, Dev Patel shared insights into the filmmaking process, stating, “I put everything into this, I shot this film in the biggest slum in India, COVID hit, and the film went down. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. And then Jordan came along in the end, he picked it up from the ground, he brushed the dust off and put it on the mantel.”

About Monkey Man

Monkey Man is a revenge thriller which revolves around the life of a young man who finds it hard to run his bread and butter in an underground fight club. During these fights, the young individual wears a gorilla mask and endures brutal beatings from renowned fighters.

Monkey Man also features Sobhita Dhulipala, Makarand Deshpande, and Sikander Kher in key roles. The movie is produced by Jordan Peele.
