Way before they were among India’s hottest couples, Akash and Shloka enjoyed a close-knit friendship which developed in Dhirubhai Ambani International School classrooms. Sources close to them say Akash had pined for Shloka long enough but never mustered the courage to open up. When they finished 12th standard exams, he finally found his courage and told her how he felt, to which Shloka responded with affection.
Even though they both studied in various regions of the globe, the two remained inseparable. Their relationship braved the pangs of distance, showing the world that true love can succeed even under such harsh conditions. The two then moved back to India after they completed their education and actively contributed to their own family businesses, tightening their relationship.
Akash and Shloka maintained their affair under wraps for years. But in March 2018, the internet was buzzing once again when a photo of Shloka kissing Akash on the cheek lovingly at a party in Goa went viral. This led to an outburst of speculation about their impending wedding. Soon after, the couple silenced all gossip by getting engaged at a five-star hotel in Goa. The soiree was nothing less than spectacular, with distinguished guests from the corporate, political, and entertainment circles.
Akash married Shloka on March 9, 2019, in what had been termed one of the biggest weddings of the decade. Guests were an upscale group, comprised of business baron Ratan Tata, the then-former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and New Zealand cricket player Shane Bond, amongst several others. The lavish ceremonies confirmed the pair’s high rank in social, as well as business, echelons.
Throughout the years, Akash and Shloka have kept on winning hearts with their sweet public outings, always hand in hand and beaming with wide smiles. Their love journey got a new direction in 2022 when they gave birth to their first child, a boy named Prithvi. One year later, their family expanded once more with the arrival of their daughter, Veda Akash Ambani.
