Naagin Actress Arzoo Govitrikar Allegedly Files Domestic Violence Case Against Her Husband

Arzoo had married Siddharth in 2010 and they have a five-year-old son Aashman.

Bollywood actress Arzoo Govitrikar, who has starred in movies like Mere Baap Pehle Aap and Baghban and television serial Naagin, has reportedly filed a case against her husband Siddharth Sabharwal for domestic violence. Arzoo, who is the sister of model-actress-doctor Aditi Govitrikar, had in her complaint stated that Siddharth hit her under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Mumbai Mirror, after objecting to her husband’s alcohol consumption on February 15, she was brutally assaulted by him. In the complaint, she said he hit her under the influence of alcohol, and she has also submitted CCTV footage of the said assault as proof.

Arzoo had married Siddharth in 2010 and they have a five-year-old son Aashman. When he was asked about the allegations, he denied them and said that Arzoo had “asked him to slap her” under the pretext of rehearsing for a crime show.

“I will respond to the allegations at the right forum,” he was quoted as saying on the matter.

Arzoo had registered the police complaint at the Worli Police Station, and on February 19, Mumbai Police registered a case against Siddharth under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 498 (Husband or relative of husband of woman subjecting her to cruelty), 504, 506 (offence of criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, act or gesture to insult woman’s modesty).

She also stated in the complaint that she was often manhandled by her husband and that he has also been verbally abusing her for months. The police, on the other hand, has said the investigation is underway and the accused has so far not been apprehended.
