Divyanka Tripathi has a massive fan following. She rose to fame by playing a dual character in Zee TV’s serial ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhann’. She has now become one of the most well-known faces on the Indian Television due to her famous character ‘Ishita’ in ‘Ye hai Mohabbatein’. Now, her fan base is just growing thanks to her amazing dancing skills that she’s been showing us on Nach Baliye 8. But fame comes at a cost, doesn’t it?
TV star Divyanka and husband Vivek Dahiya, who are certainly one of the most prominent and famous celebrity couples on Nach Baliye 8, in the recent episode, showcased a performance that was a take from her real life experience. It showed the tale of how an obsessed stalker followed her, sent her gifts and once even brought her a wedding sari. Post her performance, Divyanka recalled the horrifying experience of being stalked. The actress revealed that the stalker used to trace Divyanka’s location and follow her. He not only used to send her gifts but also to her family. Divyanka used to receive calls from him; he would make random calls to her, giving compliments like ‘Divyanka aaj aap bohot acchi lag rahi ho pink mein’.
At first, Divyanka ignored him and did not take any action against the stalker thinking he is just another fan, until she received a call one day, saying that their wedding cards have been printed with the venue and other details. Now, Divyanka had to change her phone number, block him from all her social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among others) and eventually the stalker stopped bothering the actress.
Doesn’t this sound crazy? Celebs get flattered when fans love them for their work, but when that fan takes this crush to another level, it gets scary. These kind of incidents are traumatising mentally but, hats off to Divyanka, as she very bravely tackled the situation and we are glad that she managed to come out of this safely.
