Television actress, Nitika Anand Mukherjee who essays the role of Shivaay’s (Nakuul Mehta) mother on the popular TV show Ishqbaaz is expecting her first child and is thus reportedly taking a small break from the show. Reports indicate that the actress is in her third trimester and is thus thinking of taking a break from the show. Her character will thus not be seen on the show. She tied the knot with her husband Indrajit Mukerjee in 20016 and the couple is expecting their first child almost 12 years later. In an interview with India-Forums, Nitika said, “Yes, I am taking a break from the show as I am in my last trimester.”

Over the last few episodes, Nitika was seen in loose clothes to hide her baby bump and was mostly seen in a comatose state, due to the track and leap the show had taken. In yesterday’s episode she was seen getting out of that state to finally reveal the truth about Roop Bua. Ishqbaaaz, that stars Nakuul, Surbhi Chandna, Shrenu Parikh, Kunal Jaisingh, Leenesh Mattoo and Mansi Shrivastava, is one of the top and popular Television shows. The show has been ruling the TRP charts for a long time now.

The show is riding high on the TRP charts  due to the chemistry between Shivaay and Annika (Surbhi). The show has surpassed 500 episodes. Lately, there was a buzz that the show will go off air soon, however the show’s producer, Gul Khan as quoted by a leading online portal as saying, “This is the fifth time, I am hearing this rumour. It comes up every six months.” Furthermore she added that Ishqbaaz actors are the most popular ones in the industry today and that they will never get affected by such rumours. She told that each of the actors are fabulous in their own way  and deserve every bit of the happiness and success coming their way without being constantly harassed by such rumours.
