After actress Tanushree Dutta accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008, many women from the industry and outside came forward with their #MeToo stories. Nana denied all the allegations but refused to speak on the matter. CINTAA (Cine and Television Artistes’ Association) sent legal notice to the actor seeking his explanation. Now, the latter has responded to CINTAA claiming that accusations levelled against him by the actress are false and baseless. According to ANI, “#NanaPatekar has sent a detailed response to CINTAA over the notice they sent him based on complaint by #TanushreeDutta. In the wake of #MeToo movement, Alok Nath, Chetan Bhagat, Vikas Bahl and many renowned faces, have been accused of harassment, sexual misconduct and even rape.



Akshay Kumar supported the movement and announced that he has requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shooting of the film until further investigation. He took to micro-blogging site, Twitter and wrote, “I have just landed back in the country last night and read all the news has been very disturbing. I have requested the producers of Housefull 4 to cancel the shoot until further investigation. This is something that required stringent action. I will not work with any proven offenders and all those who have been subjected to harassment should be heard and given the justice they deserve.”

Sajid Khan also stepped down as the director following harassment allegations against him.

A couple of days back, Nana’s son, Malhar Nana Patekar, issued an official statement saying that the veteran actor will no more be a part of the film.

The statement reads, “Nana saheb thought of the convenience of everybody as he wishes the best for the producer & the crew & hence felt that stepping out of the project would be an appropriate thing to do at this point of time.”
