Gravity dominated the 86th Academy Awards with 7 awards in its kitty which included Alfonso Cuaron winning the Best Director award. They might have lost the Best Picture to 12 Years A Slave but found one of the most cherished moments in form of NASA congratulating the team on their wins at the Academy Awards.
In this coolest video of the series of the three videos, NASA Astronauts Mike Hopkins, Rick Mastracchio and JAXA Astronaut Koichi Wakata aboard the International Space Station congratulated the entire crew and especially director Alfonso Cuaron of Gravity.
Mike starts with saying Up here 260 miles above the earth here, we know a little bit about gravity and the lack of gravity, which sounded like a monologue script and then he leaves the mic hanging in the air to go somersaulting! Wow. JAXA Astronaut Koichi Wakata takes over from there to reveal they took some time out to watch the movie ‘Gravity’ at the space station.
They were really in awestruck with the depiction in the movie. Rick Mastracchio then congratulated the team for the honours won from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for depicting the extreme environments. And all this while Mike Hopkins continued somersaulting in the background.
The Warner Brother produced movie Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney was survival story of Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) set in a fictitious space shuttle mission STS-157.
