Naseeruddin Shah’s comment on late actor Rajesh Khanna has not gone down well with many. It is not just Twinkle Khanna and Dimple Kapadia who reacted, but even Karan Johar expressed his displeasure over the comment. In an interview with a leading publication, the veteran actor called Twinkle Khanna’a late father a poor actor and also criticised for bringing mediocrity in Hindi films in the 70s. The damage was already done and now Naseeruddin Shah says that his intention was not to attack the late actor. After been slammed by Twinkle Khanna, Karan Johar and Dimple Kapadia for his not-so-flattering comment, Naseeruddin Shah was quoted saying, “I apologise to those who were personally offended, and my intention was not to attack him (Rajesh Khanna),” reports TOI. The 65-year-old actor is known to speak his mind. Even before, he has landed in trouble through his interviews. Later, veteran actress and the late actor Rajesh Khanna’s wife Dimple Kapadia had said, “I just want to say that while I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinion, the man’s career and legacy speak for him. I don’t need to over-emphasise his accomplishments or what he has done for Hindi cinema. You know them, I know them, millions of his fans know them as well.”

It is after all the backlashes that Naseeruddin Shah said his intention was not to attack the late actor and also apologised to Twinkle Khanna and others who took offence to his comments.
