On February 25, we all woke up to the tragic news of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi, arguably Bollywood’s first female superstar, being no more. The actress passed away due to accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub after losing consciousness in Dubai on February 24, 2018. Sridevi’s sudden and untimely death has left us all shaken. The majority of the population is yet to come to terms with her death. Sridevi’s untimely death has left a void in Bollywood. The B-Town celebs are yet to recover from the loss. Earlier today, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor’s actress-wife Neetu Singh took to her social media handle to share a picture of her husband Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi – a still from their popular film ‘Chandni’, reminiscing the good old times. Alongside the picture of Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor from the film ‘Chandni’, the actress wrote on her Instagram handle, “neetu54Reminiscing !!!! In the picture, clad in winterwear and sunglasses, the hit pair is seen shaking a leg to the popular song (the title track of the film) ‘Chandni’.

After all the forensic reports in Dubai, Sridevi’s mortal remains were brought back to India and was cremated with state honours at Vile Parle cremation grounds and several celebs from the film fraternity arrived at the venue to pay condolences to the late actress.  A part of Sridevi’s ashes were immersed in Rameshwaram and a week after the same ritual was performed in Haridwar. The remaining part of the ashes was immersed in the holy Ganges in Haridwar in Uttar Pradesh. Watch this space for further updates.
