Neil Nitin Mukesh got engaged to Rukmini Sahay is a private ceremony last October. The ceremony was attended only by close family and friends and for those who don’t know their’s is an arranged match. The wedding dates were pre-planned for early 2017 and now we have the dates too. The lovely couple is going to say ‘I Do’ on February 9 this year. The most talked about marriage is going to be a destination wedding and will happen in Udaipur. Bombay Times had confirmed the news with Neil Nitin Mukesh and he had said that, “We are planning to get married sometime in February.” The wedding preparations are going in full swing in both the families. The daily also quoted a source close to the family saying, “The shaadi will be a family affair with close to 500 guests. The functions will kickstart on February 7 with the engagement, followed by mehendi and sangeet a day later.
“The haldi, chuda and nuptial ceremony will take place on February 9. There will be a dinner and cocktail party after the wedding. The reception, to be held on the 17th at a Mumbai fivestar, will be attended by the who’swho of Bollywood,” added the source. Like most high-profile weddings, Neil and Rukmini’s wedding cards are designer made. The source also revealed, “Neil is the grandson of legendary singer Mukesh, so the invite has been designed keeping in mind his family heritage.” The wedding invite is designed to look like a coffee table book and has been made by Delhi-based designer. It looks more or less like a vintage-style photo album and every page of the album speaks of a new chapter. The daily also adds, “Every function has a foreword that comprises paraphrases from Mukesh’s songs. For instance, the invite opens to riveting lines from the film Shor. While the engagement details are preceded by lines from Anand, Himalay Ki God Mein becomes the introduction for mehendi and Chhalia, for sangeet. A stanza from Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli announces the wedding, while Mukesh sahab’s iconic title track from Kabhi Kabhie (Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein Khayal Aata Hai), has been used as the foreword for the reception. Talking about the royal invite, the New York actor said, “We wanted it to be personal and so, decided to go ahead with a compilation of memories.
