London, June 4: A new poster for ‘ X-Men: Apocalypse’ has sparked outrage among the fans as Jennifer Lawrence’s character Mystique in a chokehold in it.

The promotional image seesOscar Isaac’s villain Apocalypse grabbing the heroine by the throat above a tagline reading, “Only the strong will survive,” reports the Independent.

Though this poster has not put viewers off going to see the movie, it has invited criticism like “disturbing” and “gratuitous,” as according to them, it focuses on violence against a woman.(ALSO READ:Jennifer Lawrence says she doesn’t fret over ageing).

Charmed actress Rose McGowan has joined widespread calls for 20th Century Fox to recall the “offensive” advert, arguing that there is a “major problem” when studios think that “casual violence against women is the way to market a film.”
