What was meant to be a magical New Year’s Eve celebration turned into a frightening experience for popular music duo Sachet–Parampara. The singers, who were performing at a grand New Year’s concert in Balurghat, West Bengal, found themselves caught in an uncontrollable crowd situation as fans mobbed their car, resulting in damage to the vehicle’s windshield.
What exactly happened that night?
Soon after wrapping up their performance, Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur were making their way out of the venue when an overwhelming crowd surrounded their car. In a video that quickly went viral, Parampara can be seen recording the moment as fans rush toward their vehicle, trying to get a closer look.
At first, Sachet waves to the crowd, smiling and acknowledging their love. But within seconds, the mood changes. A loud bang is heard as someone hits the car, and the windshield cracks. Visibly shaken, Parampara can be heard saying, “Guys, relax… Happy New Year,” trying to calm the crowd as security personnel step in to control the situation.
The moment left fans concerned, with many questioning how such crowd mismanagement could happen during a public event.

As the video spread online, netizens expressed shock and concern over the safety of the singers. Many pointed out how quickly fan excitement can turn risky when proper security measures are not in place. While no serious injuries were reported, the incident sparked conversations about artist safety at large public events.
Despite the chaos, Sachet and Parampara chose not to comment directly on the incident. Instead, they shared a positive New Year message for their fans on social media, writing, “Happy New Year to all our dear people who stood by us! May 2026 be full of health, happiness, and positivity. Mahadev sabki raksha kare.”
