Just within three days of its premiere, Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar Narsimha became the highest-grossing Indian animated film ever. The mythological film is smashing records at the box office, as well as winning hearts with its gripping visuals and impeccable story. Moreover, the film has also surpassed the long-running 2005 hit Hanuman to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
Mahavatar Narsimha is breaking box office records
According to entertainment tracking portralSacnilk, Mahavatar Narsimha had a promising start, earning approximately Rs 1.75 crore on its opening day. Made in a tiny budget of Rs 4 crore, the film saw a massive jump in its collection- earning Rs 4.6 crore on Saturday and an impressive Rs 9.5 crore on Sunday, bringing its total weekend collection to Rs 15.85 crore net. Moreover, it maintained its impressive performance on Monday, adding Rs 6.1 crore and making its cumulative earnings to a staggering Rs 21.95 crore.

South superstar Prabhas also took to its Instagram to praise the film. Sharing Mahavatar Narsimha’s poster, the actor wrote, “Huge congratulations to @hombalefilms for bringing the powerful vision of #MahavatarNarsimha to life. Had the chance to watch the film and absolutely loved the action block animation and storytelling. My best wishes to Director Ashwin Kumar and the entire team for this incredible achievement.”
The film’s Hindi version also played a massive role in contributing a significant Rs 15.55 crore to its success. The Telugu version also had a solid run, earning about Rs 4.50 crore gross over the weekend. Additional earnings came from Tamil and Malayalam versions, showcasing the film’s pan-India reach.
