Amitabh Bachchan is widely regarded as the megastar of Hindi cinema. Over the decades, he has been enchanting audiences with his magnetic aura, powerful performances, and terrific on-screen partnerships. From collaborating with his wife Jaya Bachchan to sharing screen-space with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Big B has delivered blockbusters with them all. Yet their is one actress with who he had most successful collaboration, delivering 11 hit films together. Any guesses who was hailed Big B’s luck charm?
It is none other than veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar. The duo starred in 13 films together-with only two- Reshma Aur Shera and Shaan-turning out to be box office flops. Else, the record of their 11 hits makes Rakhee his lucky mascot. Their memorable hits together include Kabhi Kabhie, Shakti, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Trishul, Barsaat Ki Ek Raat, and Ek Rishtaa: The Bond of Love.
Well, interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan has shared screen space the most with Hema Malini, collaborating in 16 films, though few failed to become box office hits. He also starred in 9 films with his wife Jaya Bachchan, 11 films with Rekha and 12 with Parveen Babi.
Apart from leading ladies, Big B also had iconic partnerships with his male co-stars. His collaboration with veteran superstar Shashi Kapoor resulted in 12 films, establishing them as one of the most popular on-screen jodis. Moreover, he starred in five films each with his son Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan will be next seen in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84, co-starring Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur and Abhishek Banerjee. He will also reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel to sci-fi action epic Kalki 2898 AD, which also stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone. Production for the same is expected to begin in December this year.
