Fans have been waiting with bated breath to see Priyanka Chopra in a Bollywood film. The last we saw the actress on the big screen in Jai Gangaajal which released in early 2016. While there were reports that the actress had signed SLB’s Gustakhiyaan and the Rakesh Sharma biopic titled Salute which was to star Aamir Khan. The actress is currently in the country and reports stated that she is here to announce her next Bollywood film. And now, according to a report in DNA, Priyanka Chopra is all set to star opposite Salman Khan in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. According to the daily, Ms Chopra shares a good rapport with Ali since the two have collaborated in the past for Gunday which also starred Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. The report mentions that the filmmaker recently met Priyanka in NYC while she was filming Quantico after which she decided to give her nod to the film. PC is expected to make this announcement soon with the makers. Bharat will go on floors in mid-2018 and will release on Eid 2019. Salman Khan is currently busy with the last schedule of Race 3 in Abu Dhabi. Soon after this, the actor is supposed to begin the filming of Bharat. Earlier reports suggested that Katrina Kaif will be Salman’s leading lady in Bharat but seems like Ali has changed his mind. Bharat is an official remake of 2014 South Korean film, Ode to My Father, which narrates modern Korean history from the 1950s to the modern day through the life of an ordinary man and events such as the Hungnam Evacuation during the 1950 Korean War.
