The highly anticipated film by Nitesh Tiwari has released the first look of the much-hyped project. The mythological drama features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. However, did you know that Sai Pallavi was not the first choice for Sita? Yes, you read that right! In a recent interview, actress Srinidhi Shetty revealed that she had auditioned for the role and had also received positive feedback from the makers. However, the role was later passed on to Sai.
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Srinidhi Shetty revealed that she had auditioned for Ramayana and had performed three well-prepared scenes. She added that the producers were also very satisfied with her audition.
Later, when the producers came to know that the movie also featured Yash, they decided to drop Srinidhi. The reason was that audiences had already seen Srinidhi and Yash’s chemistry in KGF Chapter 2.
Since their pairing was a huge hit, the makers felt that casting her as Sita while Yash was playing Raavan might be difficult for audiences to accept so soon after their successful collaboration.
In her interview, Srinidhi also praised Sai for being cast as Sita. She believed that Sai is the best choice for the role.
The movie Ramayana is said to be the biggest-budget Bollywood movie ever made, with a budget of Rs 4000 crore. Recently, the makers also released the first look of the film, which has created a stir among audiences.
Ramayana will be released in two parts. The first part is scheduled to release in September 2026, while the second part will be released in 2027.
