Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat finally hit theatres on January 25. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film released on the Republic Day weekend and it is working wonders for the film. Padmaavat made Rs 114 crore in the opening weekend. Along with this, it also became Ranveer’s fastest Rs 100 crore film and Ms Padukone’s seventh film to enter the prestigious Rs 100 crore club. Despite protests, disturbances and non-screening in a few states, Padmaavat is doing well at the ticket windows. Due to this, the film has approximately lost out on Rs 35 – 37 crore. Padmaavat has been doing well not just in the country but in key international markets as well. In fact, the film is doing exceptionally well in North America.
