Padmaavat (earlier known as Padmavati) is perhaps one of the most controversial films ever made. Ever since news of Sanjay Leela Bhansali first starting work on the film began doing the rounds, the film got embroiled into a pool of controversy with Rajput Hindu groups such as the Karni Sena taking up arms and protesting against the release of the film. The film had got postponed from its earlier date, December 1 2017 to now January 25, 2018, and now with just a week to go for the release of film, it still continues to battle controversies surrounding the film. Despite Supreme Court’s decision to lift the ban in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat, protestors across India continue to do everything in their power to threaten against the screening of the film. Amidst these tense times, Sanjay Leela Bhansali could find solace in spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar‘s verdict who watched the much-awaited film and absolutely loved it. The film was screened in the Art of Living Ashram, Bengaluru, on January 15, 2018. The Guruji watched the film in the company of Bhansali and had only praises to shower on him. He praised the Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer film and said that there was nothing objectionable about it. In fact reports indicate that the spiritual guru was confused as to why people were protesting against it so much. He reportedly went on to say that the film was an ultimate tribute to the Rajput honour and pride and Rani Padmini. He even went onto say that people should celebrate the film and feel proud about it instead of creating such a ruckus for no rhyme or reason.
