Following threats being issued against Deepika Padukone and her film Padmavati, the Karnataka state government has provided police protection to the actress and her family in Bangalore. As per recent updates, cops have beefed up security at Deepika’s home at Woods Weil apartment, Nandidurga Road, JC Nagar, Bangalore. Even the Ramalinga Reddy, the Home Minister of Karnataka wrote a letter to Karnataka DG – IGP to ensure that no harm is done to the actress or her family. Shivakumar condemned the act that a BJP office bearer announced Rs. 10 crore for Deepika’s head. He called this disrespectful towards women. Reddy on the other hand promised in his tweet that maximum security will be provided to the Padmavati actress and her family. It can be recalled that the Karni Sena and other members of the Rajput community went against the actress after she expressed her views on her film and the ongoing controversy. Deepika’s father, senior badminton player Prakash Padukone, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha stay in Bangalore and around 4-5 constables have been stationed outside their house in JC Nagar. Cameras have also been installed around the area and the private security has also been briefed to be prepared and on their toes at all times. We hear that now that Padmavati is postponed, Deepika will head to Bangalore to her parents’ home for a few days.
