Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmavati‘s release has become one of the most controversial releases of all time, and the fringe groups have been on constant protests to defer the release date of the film, and consequently succeeding in it. Not just that, the fringe groups have tipped towards the extreme, demanding the heads of Bhansali and Deepika Padukone for a bounty of Rs 5 crore each. Following these threats, many on social media and people from the industry have come to support the film’s cast, including the likes of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Upon hearing the inflammatory comment of a BJP leader from Haryana, Suraj Pal Amu on Sunday, who offered a bounty of Rs 10 crore to anyone beheading Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone, Kamal Hassan came out in support of the actress, claiming that he too wants her head – saved. Hassan wrote in his tweet: “I want Ms. Deepika’s head.. saved. Respect it more than her body. Even more her freedom. Do not deny her that. Many communities have opposed my films. Extremism in any debate is deplorable. Wake up cerebral India. Time to think. We’ve said enough. Listen Ma Bharat”

Apart from the film fraternity, Deepika has also found support in her Hollywood friends. Her xXx: Return of Xander Cage co-star Ruby Rose also tweeted in support of the actress from the other side of the world. Meanwhile, the makers of the film have tightened the security for the Padmavati team, especially that of Bhansali and Deepika. It remains to be seen which release date the film will choose as per further developments. Stay tuned to this space for more.
