CBFC made it a Happy New Year for Sanjay Leela Bhansali after finally decided to clear Padmavati with a few alterations. The special panel that included historians as well, saw the film and gave it a U/A certificate. They have also suggested a change in title for the film, making it Padmavat, from previous Padmavati to indicate that the film is a work of fiction based on the poem by Mallik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. However, these measures were not enough to satisfy the Rajput Karni Sena, as they are not done giving Bhansali more problems. Fresh reports suggest that the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena after being silent during this period, are not going to sit out this time as well. The community will begin a nationwide protest against the film today. There have been talks that the makers are finalising a release date of February 9, and the authorities responsible for clearing the film are under the crosshairs. The Rajput Karni Sena demands the resignation of I&B minister Smriti Irani, politician and former shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi. The film that was to release on December 1 previously had its release stalled following protests by the Karni Sena in several parts of the country. Things only got harder after the film failed to get certification,  and the film’s release had to be deferred indefinitely.
