Pahlaj Nihalani‘s erotic sequel Julie 2, helmed by Deepak Shivdasani, was to release on October 6 but will now release on November 10. Look’s like Nihalani does not want to release his film during the time Aamir Khan releases his movie. The former chief, in a statement to a leading daily, said, “We lost our original date of October 6 because of a court case. After that, we couldn’t come in the pre-Diwali week when the entire nation’s eyes are glued to Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar.” Also Read - Varun Dhawan, Natasha Dalal Wedding: Producer Pahlaj Nihalani Spills Beans on Their Weekend Wedlock
Nihalani realises that competing with Aamir would be the lamest thing to do, as it is obvious that the nation’s eyes are glued to Aamir’s Secret Superstar. The former chief confessed, “I am scared of Aamir’s clout at the box office. We all are. No producer will dare to bring his film anywhere close to an Aamir film. This Diwali belongs to him.” Also Read - Aamir Khan Trolled For Not Wearing Mask, Fans Say 'Lagta Hai Vaccine Le Li Hai'
With Julie 2, Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz will also be releasing on November 10, but it seems that Anurag Kashyap does not intimidate him, “We are not scared of Kashyap’s cinema. He has always tried to generate interest in his films by raking up censor issues. Now that I’m no more the CBFC chairperson let’s see how he generates interest in his films. Hamare paas Julie hai.” Also Read - Salman Khan to Become Prem of Maine Pyar Kiya For Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha, Shooting on Jan 8
Within two weeks of getting sacked, we heard that Pahlaj Nihalani is all set to be the distributor of an ‘A’ rated movie. The man who opposed the adult content in a film while he was the chief of Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC), is now presenting us a film like Julie. Wow! Hypocrisy at its peak. At the theatrical trailer of the erotic sequel Julie 2, Nihalani had said, “Julie 2 should get an ‘A’ Certificate without any cuts.” Hilarious, isn’t it?
