It appears Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has landed in a bit of a fix for allegedly refusing to allow his child to be vaccinated against polio. As per reports, the Lahore district administration filed an FIR against him and five other people after a complaint from a union council monitoring officer (UCMO). According to Dawn.com, in the incident that took place on Wednesday, the six allegedly refused to let their children be immunised by polio vaccination teams in Lahore. But a press release that was issued by Fawad’s manager stated that there is no truth in the accusations as the actor and his wife were not at home when the vaccination team arrived. A tweet stating the same was posted by a reporter from Pakistan. Also Read - Salman Khan Versus Fawad Khan: Pakistan to Screen Movies Bharat And The Legend Of Maula Jatt During Eid 2019

The statement from the UCMO, however, stated that the team visited Fawad’s Model Town residence, as he has a child who is of age to be vaccinated. But, when they arrived there, the head of the family refused to allow the vaccine to be administered to the child. The statement further said that the team was also threatened with dire consequences. The statement, however, did not clarify if the “head of the family” was Fawad or somebody else.

Another Twitter user questioned how a case or even blame be put on Fawad when he is not even in the country. Babar Bin Atta, who is the Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, tweeted back about what had happened.

The statement issued on behalf of Fawad had also stated that the actor fully supports the anti-polio campaign and is very well aware of the guidelines of international organisations about the disease and that his daughter has been vaccinated on schedule.
