Weeks after the wedding fiasco, Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana finally broke their silence on the matter. While the cricketer made it clear that the wedding has been ‘called off’, the music composer said that he is ‘stepping back from his previous relationship.’
Taking to Instagram, the duo shared their perspectives on calling off the wedding. Though neither of them revealed the actual reason behind this major step, they expressed their anguish and urged people to give their families privacy during this tough time.
While Smriti, in her Instagram stories, wrote, “Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.”
She further added, “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all, and for me, that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible, and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It’s time to move forward.”

On the other hand, Palaash also took to his Instagram account and shared his perspective. In a lengthy post, Palaash mentioned that he has decided “to move on” from his previous relationship.
Palaash’s post read, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship. It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily to baseless rumours about something that has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs.”
He further added, “I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”
Palaash also mentioned in his post that his team is taking strict action against people who created a false narrative against him.

Palaash and Smriti were supposed to get married on November 23, 2025. However, on the day of the wedding, it was revealed that the cricketer’s father was rushed to the hospital after experiencing cardiac arrest–type symptoms.
Following this, speculations started circulating on the internet that the real reason behind putting the wedding on hold was not Smriti’s father’s health but Palaash’s infidelity.
A Reddit user claimed that Palaash cheated on Smriti with their dance choreographer. Later, the name of the choreographer also emerged, and she was identified as Nandika Dwivedi.
While the rumours spread rapidly, Nandika broke her silence, stating that she has nothing to do with Palaash or with ruining his wedding with Smriti. Dwivedi also revealed that she has been receiving death threats following the incident.
Meanwhile, nothing of the sort has been confirmed, and no official information regarding Palaash cheating has emerged.
