Singer Palak Muchhal has finally spoken about how her family is dealing with the sudden halt of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and her brother Palaash Muchhal’s wedding.

The ceremony, which was set for November 23 in Sangli, was postponed without warning, triggering speculation and drawing heavy public curiosity. Breaking her silence, Palak acknowledged that the unexpected turn of events had taken an emotional toll on both families.

Here’s what Palak Muchhal said:

Calling it an incredibly difficult phase, Palak told Filmfare, “I think the families have been through a very, very tough time. We would like to believe in positivity at this time and spread positivity as much as we can. And stay strong, yeah.”

The wedding was put on hold after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill on the wedding day and was rushed to a hospital in Sangli with symptoms of a heart attack. Just a day later, Palaash was also admitted to a hospital in Sangli and later shifted to Mumbai for further tests. With both families suddenly facing medical emergencies, the decision to postpone the celebrations became inevitable.

Palak’s comments mark the first official acknowledgement from the Muchhal family since the delay. Smriti and Palaash, meanwhile, have not issued any statement yet, though both recently added an evil-eye emoji to their social media bios, a quiet signal that hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans.
