Panchayat 3: Durgesh Kumar is getting immense love for his performance as Bhushan, also known as Banrakas, in Panchayat Season 3. Born and raised in Darbhanga, Durgesh Kumar finished his education there before relocating to Delhi. He managed to attend the National School of Drama and teach in a school. Durgesh relocated to Mumbai in search of more prospects to pursue a profession in acting. Despite this promising beginning, he endured years of hardship, receiving several rejections and only being cast in small roles. The actor, who is reprising his role from the second season of the show, received immense love on social media. As the actor soaks in success, he recalled his difficult time when he had to work on an adult film.
Durgesh, who made his screen debut in the movie ‘Highway,’ had to work on soft porn to make ends meet at this trying time. Speaking to DNA, he said, “I can’t live without acting. So, I did any work that came my way because I was confident in my abilities. We are getting work now, which is a big deal. Else, where would we fit? Nobody takes us in the maar-dhaad wale shows (action genre). At least with comedy, we get these chances so it feels very good.”
Written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, Panchayat is a comedy-drama. Aasif Khan, Pankaj Jha, Ashok Pathak, Sanvikaa, Rajesh Jais, Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, Biswapati Sarkar, and Sunita Rajwar are among the important characters. The Viral Fever supported the series, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
Later on, Durgesh contributed to movies like Sultan, Dhadak, Freaky Ali, Bahen Hogi Teri, and Bombairiya. He recently starred in Laapataa Ladies, directed by Aamir Khan.
