While everyone’s attention has been on Padman, post Akshay Kumar‘s announcement of pushing his film to Feb 9 to make way for Padmaavat to release solo on January 25, John Abraham starrer Parmanu : The Story of Pokhran has reportedly been pushed as well— to March 2 this year. While Padman will be clashing with Aiyaary once again, Parmanu will be clashing with Pari on the Holi weekend. This is the third time that Parmanu’s release has been postponed. First it was to release on December 8, 2017 but was pushed to a later date in order to avoid being overshadowed by Padmaavat that was to earlier release on December 1. It was then reported that the film would release on February 23, however, if reports are to be believed, the film will now release during the Holi weekend. Also Read - Satyameva Jayate 2 Opening Day Box Office Collection: John Abraham Starrer Witnesses Slow Growth

Parmanu is reportedly based on a series of nuclear tests conducted by India in Pokran Rajasthan. The Pokhran test of 1974 made India the sixth state to declare itself as a nuclear power after the United States of India, Soviet Union, Britain, France and China. However, Parmanu : The Story of Pokhran is based on the nuclear test conducted by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee led BJP government at Pokhran, Rajasthan in 1998. The film is helmed by Abhishek Sharma and also stars Boman Irani and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.
