Actor Priyanka Chopra couldn’t be in India but she did participated in Janata Curfew suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Sunday. Though, The Sky is Pink actor is currently residing in Los Angeles, she went to her balcony to clap in support of the medical workers and essential service providers amid coronavirus lockdown. Taking to social media, she shared her video where she can be seen clapping to show her support towards Janata Curfew and to pay her gratitude. Clad in a pink pullover, she can be seen clapping hands. She wrote, “People around the world have shown their appreciation for the doctors, nurses and all the first responders battling Covid-19 by clapping on their balconies. On Sunday, Indians participated in voluntary lockdown to tackle the spread of deadly pandemic coronavirus. Several states and union territories are in a state of quarantine over high contagious virus spread. Over 340,000 people have been affected with over 400 infected in India. As the coronavirus cases in the country crossed 400 with fresh cases being reported from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, a number of state governments have on Sunday announced to impose complete lockdown in their states as part of the preventive measures.
Other Bollywood celebrities who participated in the Janta Curfew were Vaun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kapil Sharma, Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini among others.
Meanwhile, Priyanka is currently in the US with husband Nick Jonas and the couple marked 10 days of self-quarantine. On the work front, Priyanka will soon be seen in Netflix’s The White Tiger, in which she will share screen space with Rajkummar Rao.
