Pushpa 2: The Rule is creating a massive stir at the box, setting new records since its release. The film has become the highest Hindi opener, defeating Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Well, on Day 3, it has become the fastest Indian film to earn Rs 500 crore. With the success of this massy actioner, Allu Arjun has become a reigning star at the box office.
Well, Pushpa is indeed one of the highest-grossing films in Allu Arjun’s and Rashmika Mandanna’s career. But what if we tell you that, these actor’s weren’t the choice for the film? Director Sukumar planned an entirely different cast but it didn’t happen for some or the other reason. Here is a list of actors who rejected Pushpa.
Mahesh Babu
According to reports, Mahesh Babu was Pushpa’s original choice. He even agreed to do the film. However, the Telugu superstar later backed out of it due to creative differences. He even posted a tweet in 2021, informing his fans that he won’t be the part of Pushpa anymore. The tweet from 2019 says, “Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project. Respect always for a filmmaker par excellence. 1 Nenokkadine will remain as a cult classic. Enjoyed every moment working on that film.”

After Mahesh Babu walked out, Sukumar worked on the script again and formed a fresh story.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was offered to play Rashmika Mandanna’s character Srivalli, but the actress rejected it as she didn’t want to play the role of rural girl right after Rangasthalam. Later, she did an item number in Puspha i.e Oo Antava, which became a blockbuster. The song was initially offered to Disha
Patani.
Vijay Sethupathi
Vijay Sethupathi was offered to play the character of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. However, it was said that the actor didn’t do it due to creative conflicts. In an exclusive interview with M9, the Maharaja actor said, “What happened between the team and me is between us. I need not tell that to everyone. I watched Pushpa two times.”
Vijay Deverakonda
Reportedly, Vijay Deverakonda was considered for Allu Arjun’s part due to his rising popularity with the Sandeep Vanga’s Arjun Reddy. However, neither the Pushpa 2 director nor Vijay confirmed this rumour.
Ravi Teja & Nani
Ravi Teja & Nani were also offered to play Fahadh Faasil’s part but they couldn’t do it due to prior work commitments.
