R Madhavan, who was last seen in gangster-cop actioner ‘Vikram Vedha’ and is currently seen in a web series titled ‘Breathe’ that’s streaming on Amazon Prime, had been suffering from a bad shoulder injury. However, the actor underwent a surgery last month and since he is recuperating. Now, according to the latest reports, Madhavan won’t be a part of Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. Just an hour ago, the actor took to his micro-blogging site to confirm the news; he tweeted, “Hey folks .. So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost.🙈🙈” Reportedly, the actor was going to play the villain in Simmba but due to injury he can’t be a part of the project. Recently, Madhavan had to opt out of Navdeep Singh’s upcoming historical drama, starring Saif Ali Khan, following his shoulder surgery after he injured himself in the gym, and he feels miserable about it. The actor had said in a statement, “Yes, I had to opt out as as the film is which is heavy on action scenes. I am feeling so miserable because I was so looking forward to joining that team and working with them.” The audience was looking forward to the film as it marked a reunion between the “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein” co-stars after 17 years but looks like we have to wait longer. On the professional front, Madhavan is seen on the web television series – Breathe. It’s a thriller and it also stars Amit Sadh and Sapna Pabbi in the lead roles. Reportedly, Breathe explores the life of an ordinary man facing extraordinary circumstances. Written and directed by Mayank Sharma, Breathe follows a series of murders of organ donors who are connected to Danny Mascarenhas, played by Madhavan. The actor will also be seen in the upcoming Bollywood film titled ‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’, along with actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Watch this space for further updates.
