Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi based on Harinder Sikka’s Calling Sehmat released last Friday. The film starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles was applauded for the storytelling and performances. The film has been doing well since its release and on Day 8 as well the film remained strong at the box office as it earned Rs 4.75 crore taking the film’s total to Rs 61.34 crore.
Taran Adarsh updated us with the box office numbers of Raazi and took to Twitter and wrote, “#Raazi has a SUPER-STRONG second Fri… The trends are crystal clear: Expect SOLID GROWTH on Sat and Sun… Should cross ₹ 75 cr mark by Weekend 2… [Week 2] Fri 4.75 cr. Total: ₹ 61.34 cr. India biz.” The film was declared as a hit after the opening weekend numbers of the film were out and now at the end of the first week we can say it is a superhit.
Talking about the economics of Raazi, the makers spent Rs 37 crore on the COP and P & A. Approximately 90 percent of the investment recouped through non-theatrical sales [Music, Satellite, Digital, Overseas]. The film has done well in the overseas market as well. At the end of week one, Raazi earned Rs 18.08 crore. With this, the worldwide box office collection of Raazi as of now stands at Rs 79.42 crore which is a win-win for everyone.
