Actor Radhika Madan is gearing up for her upcoming film Angrezi Medium alongside Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Dimple Kapadia. She plays the role of Irrfan’s ambitious daughter who wants to study abroad. Ever since the trailer hit the screens, Radhika has been garnering a lot of praises for her performance. Now, the actor opened up on working alongside Irrfan, how she’s missing him in the promotions and the rumours of replacing Sara Ali Khan in the film. Speculations were rife that Sara was approached for the role of Irrfan’s daughter in the film but Radhika’s performance during the audition replaced the former. In her latest interview with Mid-Day, the actor opened up on the same news reports and mentioned that all she did was she auditioned for a film she really wanted to be a part. Radhika said she doesn’t know if Sara was a part of the film or not but she knows that she always audition for films and she will continue doing the same. “I auditioned for this film, and I will continue to audition for movies that catch my attention. The Pataakhaa actor added that from the moment she did the audition, she started ‘begging the universe’ to get the film. Radhika went on to talk about working with Irrfan. She said she never believed herself until the day she saw the credits of the trailer with her name written alongside Irrfan’s. “Until the day I saw the trailer credits, I couldn’t believe I had done a film with Irrfan sir!,” said Radhika. The talented young actor went on to say that there’s no day when she doesn’t think of Irrfan while promoting Angrezi Medium and it’s heartbreaking but she hopes he gets better soon.

Irrfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and is currently recovering. Directed by Homi Adajania, Angrezi Medium hits the screens on March 20.
