We are approaching the end of 2017, which means that our wait for the Rajinikanth–Akshay Kumar–Amy Jackson film, 2.0 is getting shorter and shorter. The film is already touted to be a mega block buster surpassing even Baahubali in its Box Office Collections. And while there are still two months for the film to hit the theatres, makers are piquing our interest by unveiling something or the other related to the film. While the posters of the film are already out, another big event is all set to unfold in the next two days. Well, we’re talking about the much awaited 2.0 audio launch, which is scheduled to take place on October 27.Also Read - Into The Wild With Bear Grylls: Ajay Devgn To Go On Adventurous Ride With The Host | Deets Inside
Given that it’s a Rajinikanth starrer film, everything about it is expected to be grand. The film is anyway touted be the most expensive film till date, after Baahubali of course, and the makers are certainly leaving no stone unturned in making the promotional events larger than life. The audio launch is going to be one grand affair with AR Rahman, the music composer of 2.0, performing live at Burj Park in Dubai, where the event is expected to take place. The budget of the audio launch in itself is said to be not less than Rs 15 crore. To say that the production house, Lyca Productions, who has bankrolled the sci-fi film, is going all out to make the event an extravagant one would be an understatement. Check out the audio launch teaser that the 2.0 team has come out with. Before this, the makers had also launched 100 ft long air baloons (with Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar’s faces on it), which were let loose in the air. Moreover, the makers organised a huge event in Mumbai to unveil its first look posters for shooting the film entirely in 3D. All this has only been preparing us for the visual treat that is set to hit screens on January 25 next year.
Despite it being called a sequel of Enthiran, the movie is said to have a new plot. While Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the role of an antagonist (an alien to be precise), Rajinikanth will be seen playing the character of Chitti and Dr Vaseegaran. Amy Jackson on the other hand will be playing a droid in the sci-fi film. The grand audio launch will be followed by a teaser in November and finally the trailer in December.
