Superstar Rajinikanth, who has fans of all ages and in all parts of the world, too had a fan-boy moment. The veteran actor, on the third day of his fans meeting in Chennai, recalled the time when he too had experienced and felt the joy of watching a film star in person. The 67-year old said, “I understand your enthusiasm and energy. I too have gone through it. In my younger days in Bengaluru, I was a big fan of Dr Rajkumar. From contemporaries to newbies, everyone takes inspiration from him, while Rajinikanth takes inspiration from Sandalwood’s matinee idol late Dr Rajkumar. As fans (during the fan meet) wanted to touch the Tamil Superstar’ feet, he told them how he too wished to touch the feet of late Dr Rajkumar but then he went on to advise his fans that one must not touch the feet of a person just because he has name, fame or money but only fall on the feet of these three – father, mother and god. Speaking of his days when he wished to touch the feet of late Dr Rajkumar, the Kabali actor said, “I was about 14-15 years when Rajkumar had come to attend the 100 days celebration of his film. When I saw him for the first time, the images of his on-screen started running in my mind and I forgot that I was seeing him in real. I went and touched his feet. Superstar Rajinikanth, on Thursday, met his fans for the third day of his six-day long fans meet-and-greet programme in Chennai. The fan club got an amazing opportunity to take a photograph with their matinee idol. Reportedly, the veteran actor met the fans from Madurai, Virudhunagar, Salem and Namakkal on the third day. He stated that he wanted to treat his fans with non-vegetarian dishes, but since Raghavendra Mandapam is strictly vegetarian, the non-veg treat would happen some other day.

On the professional front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in 2.0, which is being helmed by Shankar and bankrolled by Subaskaran Allirajah, founder of Lyca Productions. Besides Superstar, the film also features Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film is one of the most-anticipated films of 2018.
