In a grand ceremony in Chennai, filmmaker S. Shankar’s daughter, Aishwarya, recently exchanged vows with Tarun Karthikeyan. The wedding was nothing short of a star-studded extravaganza, with luminaries from the Tamil film industry and political spheres coming together to bless the newlyweds.

Among the esteemed guests were iconic actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vikram, Suriya, Karthi, and Nayanthara, along with acclaimed directors Mani Ratnam and Vignesh Shivan. Adding to the glamour were Mani Ratnam’s wife, Suhasini, and actors Arjun and Atlee, who were seen extending warm welcomes to the attendees.

Aishwarya, a doctor by profession, is the eldest daughter of S. Shankar. This marks her second marriage after her previous union with cricketer Damodaran Rohit ended in divorce. Rohit’s arrest under the POCSO Act due to a sexual harassment case further complicated their relationship.

The wedding was not only a celebration of love but also a display of familial bonds, as Shankar’s other children, Aditi and Arjith, joined in the joyous occasion. Despite her professional commitments, Aishwarya radiated happiness as she embarked on this new chapter of her life alongside Tarun Karthikeyan. h

The presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and other prominent figures from the political area underscored the significance of the occasion, elevating it to a momentous celebration of love, unity, and blessings.

Meanwhile, Shankar, a prolific filmmaker renowned for his groundbreaking works, is currently immersed in two ambitious projects. He is helming Ram Charan’s Telugu film “Game Changer” and steering the ship for Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated “Indian 2.”
