Rajinikanth – Akshay Kumar’s sci-fi thriller 2.0 and Kamal Haasan‘s Vishwaroopam 2 are one of the most awaited films. The release of both the films has been pushed back and forth several times. But if latest updates are to be believed, Rajinikanth‘s 2.0 is all set to clash with Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam 2 this Independence Day. Yes, according to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, “#Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan’s #Vishwaroopam2 most likely to release for #IndependenceDay2018 weekend. Mid-August.”
If this happens for sure, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will have a huge box office clash. According to the trade circles, the makers of Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth’s sci-fi film, are eyeing the Independence Day weekend for their film’s release. The film has postponed multiple times last year. It was to first release in Diwali last year, then it was pushed to Republic Day 2018. The makers then decided to postpone as they wanted to work on the special effects of the film which was to take more time. Now if latest reports are to be believed, makers of 2.0 want to take advantage of the long weekend in August.
The makers of Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika are also waiting for makers of 2.0 to make an official announcement because they do not wish to clash with the Rajinikanth starrer. One of the producers while talking about it to Mid-day said, “Movies like Rani Laxmibai biopic are a one-time creation; we can’t afford to go wrong with it. So, rushing with dates is not a good idea.”
