Any true blue Bollywood person would agree with that no film releases without its fair share of controversies, and so is the case with Rajkummar Rao‘s upcoming film Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Rajkummar Rao has had a splendid year this far, with his power-packed performances in films like Newton, Trapped, Bareilly Ki Barfi, finally getting due recognition. But his upcoming film has hit a snag, as the film’s promotions get denied in UP since the UP government has refused to give subsidy to the filmmakers. Also Read - Vikrant Massey's Most IRRITATING Thing; Kriti Kharbanda Answers | Exclusive Rapid Fire
Speaking to a leading tabloid, a source said that, ‘The entire movie has been shot in Lucknow and Allahabad. As per subsidy norms of the state’s film policy, the subsidy is given when the product is ready. Film promotions in prime cities are a major part of the process. The Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana team had planned promotions in Lucknow last week, but they had to be cancelled after Rajkummar suffered a leg injury on the sets of a reality show.’ That’s not it, the source added that the director of the film, Ratnaa Sinha was sure of promoting the film in Lucknow but feels that ‘it doesn’t make sense in putting anyone through the hassle.’ ALSO READ: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Rushes To Help Victim During An Accident On The Sets Of Fanney Khan Also Read - Vikrant Massey And Kirti Kharbanda on Why 14 Phere And Not 7 Phere ? Speaking about the matter, the producer of the film, Vinod Bachchan also spoke to the leading daily. He said that the actor’s health is more important than everything else. ‘Raj has been adviced complete rest by the doctors. He is pushing himself as much as possible. He will be promoting the film in Delhi, but Lucknow and Allahabad won’t be possible. As far as the subsidy goes, we don’t make movies to earn benefits. The film is made from the heart and the actors are our priority.’ Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is slated to hit the screens on November 10.
