#Ramayan is currently the top second trend on Twitter as we write this. For many people growing up in the ’90s, Ramayan was an important part of their childhood. Many of them witnessed the hysteria unfolding live in front of them as people started worshipping Lord Rama and Sita through their TV screens. So much so was the frenzy that most people used to watch the show barefooted – the way they are supposed to enter a religious place. The show featured Arun Govil in the role of Lord Rama, Deepika Chikhalia as Sita, Arvind Trivedi as Ravana, Dara Singh as Hanuman and Sunil Lahri as Laxman. As the show turned iconic, the actors became so popular that they used to be treated like real-life Gods among people.
