What a week it has been in Bollywood. We have been left looking forward to the upcoming weeks, months and the whole year in fact to witness all that the Hindi film industry has in store for us. This week (Feb 12- 16), we saw some new trailers, first looks, release date announcements and more, which has us excited. If your busy work life has forced you to miss any of these important updates, this Bollywood Week In Review is just what you need. Take a look at the biggest news and newsmakers of the week.

As if the screamers and teaser wasn’t enough, Anushka Sharma releases the trailer of her Holi release – Pari. The film is a psychological thriller with Anushka playing a character who is possessed. Just like the earlier glimpses from the film, the Pari trailer received thumbs up as well and is touted as the film which might change the way Bollywood looks at the horror genre. The film releases on March 2, 2018.

Varun Dhawan is one of those young actor who are very active on social media. Off late, through his Instagram stories, the actor has been telling us how he is waiting for all of us to see his film October. He says that the film is very close to his heart and that it is going to be beyond box office numbers for him. And this week, we saw the October Feeler come our way. And the latest, just last night, Ajay Devgn official kick-started the countdown to his March 16 release – Raid where he pairs up with Ileana D’Cruz once again post Baadshaho. The first song from the film – a recreated version of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Sanu Ek Pal Chain also released this week, giving us a glimpse of the onscreen couple’s chemistry.

While we were left looking forward to these films, we heard a heartbreaking news about a much awaited project. Kedarnath, which was supposed to be Sara Ali Khan’s Bollywood debut, has run into trouble and may either get delayed or shelved altogether. The director Abhishek Kapoor and the production house KriArj Entertainment have parted ways, leaving the film’s shoot stalled and without a producer. We hear that the ex-producers are planning to take legal action against the filmmaker for unprofessional behavior and dealings while making the film.

That was some disappointing news for Sushant Singh Rajput fans. However, not all was lost. Drive -his film with Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani, starring Jacqueline Fernandez, which was initially slated for a Holi 2018 release finally got a release date. Just as India.com had told its readers in January this year., the film is postponed and will now release in September 2018. That put all the speculations about the film being shelved to rest.

As for Sara Ali Khan, India.com has exclusively learnt that she has already started looking for another project and has shown interesting in pairing up opposite Ranveer Singh. If all works well, we might see her make her debut in Karan Johar – Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. Read all details here.

Talking about KJo and his next, the filmmaker has finally announced the female leads for Student Of The Year 2. We will see Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey and TV Hottie Tara Sutaria share screen space with Tiger Shroff in the college romance which is slated for a 23 November, 2018 release.

On the topic of Dharma Productions’ films – how can we not talk about Brahmastra. The Ayan Mukerji directorial is all set to go on floors in Bulgaria the upcoming week. India.com learnt exclusive details of the schedule in Bulgaria, where Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy joined Ranbir Kapoor earlier this week. On Friday, we also saw a selfie go viral with Ranbir and Alia posing with their trainer on Sofia. Posted by trainer Jonathan Fletcher, the caption revealed how it was taken after an important movement training sesh with the two actors.

While this was in Bulgaria, back home, in Uttarakhand, Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu went on floors. One of his leading ladies, Shraddha Kapoor, who has worked with him earlier in the critically acclaimed Haider, joined him on the sets this week. We also saw a few pictures from the sets where Sasha looked cool and stylish, while Shraddha was seen in a plain Jane, girl-next-door avatar.

And meanwhile, in Mumbai, Arjun Kapoor and his Ishaqzaade heroine Parineeti Chopra, gave a look test for their upcoming film Namastey England. The two had been shooting for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar in and around Delhi since quite some time now and this look test for the next makes us believe that they have either wrapped up SAPF or are done with major portion of it.

And these are not all! We saw Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s first look from Fanne Khan while we also got the first look of Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor’s Laila Majnu. The first look of Loveratri – which launches Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Ayush Sharma and Warina Hussain also came out on Valentine’s Day.

Wow! Some really interesting films lined up for us. And it is only February. As we get deeper into the year, we are sure more amazing projects, released dates, casting coupes will come our way. Picture Abhi Baaki Hai, Dost! Haina?
