Veteran actor-turned-politician Dharmendra Deol’s recently launched restaurant ‘He-Man Larger Than Life Dhaba’ situated on National Highway in Haryana’s Karnal, has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday. The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions. The ‘farm-to-fork’ themed restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here. The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar. “After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to-fork themed restaurant ‘He-Man’,” Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine’s Day. Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue. The Facebook page of He-Man said the restaurant is “a multi-cuisine restaurant makes its mark with an inventive menu that serves food for the twenty-first century, with a unique marriage of global ingredients and techniques, that make food melts in your mouth. With the concept “Farm To Fork”, it’s the first of its kind highway restaurant, guaranteeing food that is fresh, safe & nutritious. He-Man, built on the values of authenticity and responsible leadership, is the brainchild of Indian film actor, producer and Lok Sabha Member, Mr. Dharmendra, who believes that “You feel good when you eat well”. The concept “Farm to Fork” is not a lifestyle for him, but life itself. He-Man is bound to make food lovers fall in love with its delectable delicacies, inviting ambience and passion to serve food, that makes you feel good”.

As per the previous reports, the He-Man Dhaba will also donate a part of its earnings to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working to provide better education facilities for the children of the country’s martyrs. Moreover, all personnel from paramilitary and defence can avail an additional 10 per cent discount at the Dhaba.
