In a rather unexpected turn of events, the Karnataka police stumbled upon CCTV evidence highlighting Darshan’s vehicle near the spot where Renuka’s remains were discovered. Additionally, the clip showcased a car attached to Darshan, but it remains unclear whether the actor was indeed in the car then.

What is the Renuka Swamy Murder Case?

Renuka Swamy, who formerly worked at one of the Apollo Pharmacy outlets based in Chitradurga, was found dead on June 8, 2024, at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. The culprits intended to hide their wrongdoings by discarding his body in the Vrushabhavati valley. However, their plans fell apart as his body was soon discovered and was disturbed by the local dogs.

As per the police statement, Renuka had a reputation for sending vulgar texts to Pavithra Gowda, a Kannada actress and Darshan’s friend. Renuka Swamy was murdered and his remains were allegedly discarded in a canal in Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru. Media reports indicate that a total of eight individuals are pointing fingers at Darshan, asserting he had a hand in the assault that led to Renuka Swamy’s death.

With Darshan now under six-day police detention, the investigation is thoroughly underway. After the murder of Renuka Swamy, his wife voiced her dissatisfaction about the situation. In a poignant remark, she said, My husband called me on June 8 afternoon. If my husband had sent derogatory messages on social media, he should have been given a warning. What was the need to kill him,” she said and then added,“Whether he is an actor (Darshan) or a star, I want justice (sic).”
