Rising Star 25 March 2017 full episode review: Humsufi-Shreyasi lose in the Duets Challenge face-off to Jidnesh-Nikita!

In the Colors Rising Star 25 March 2017 episode , experts are having a tough time selecting pairs for the Duets challenge round. First up are Bannet and Afsana. Bannet did not want to get paired with Afsana as he thought that Afsana and his scales wouldn’t match. They fight a lot during rehearsals as Bannet is still unhappy with his duet partner. Finally, they coordinate and rehearse. They attempt Sunidhi and Salim’s ‘Ainvayi Ainvayi’ and their voting closes at 89 per cent! All the experts are on their feet by the time their voting ends. They set a target of 89 per cent for Ameya and Maithili.

Experts kept Ameya and Maithili together keeping in mind Maithili and Ameya’s classical background and both of them are really happy to be paired with each other. Ameya and Maithili both are really happy and comfortable with each other. They sing a classical ‘Badal Ghumad’ and breach the 89 per cent to score an extraordinary 94 per cent! They get a standing ovation from the studio audience and the experts! So much so that the studio audience ask them to sing it once more and they perform the song again. Shankar Mahadevan showers them with praises. He tells Maithili that he thinks that she would be one of the leading female singers of India in the future, and commends Ameya as well calling him the second Arijit Singh. Next up are Shreyasi and Humsufi. They perform on ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aya’ and their voting stops at a disappointing 75 per cent. Shankar and Maithili give their honest opinions, as ever and tell Maithili that she could have performed better. Shankar asks Humsufi that if they had to bring down their scales due to Shreyasi and they nod their heads in agreement. Shankar tells them that is where they went wrong and Shreyasi was still not able to keep up with them. Monali again asks Shreyasi to be careful and work harder for the next time. So, they are unable to beat Ameya and Maithili’s score of 94 per cent and head towards the unsafe zone on the red sofa with Afsana and Bannet. Ameya and Maithili come back to the safe zone.  (WATCH: Rising Star 19 March 2017 Watch Full Episode Online in HD)

Jidnesh and Nikita are up next and they have to beat Afsana and Bannet’s 90 per cent. They  attempt Antara Mitra and Arijit Singh’s ‘Gerua’ and score 86 per cent votes. Shankar Mahdevan reluctantly swipes green for them and after the performance he tells them that it was only because of Nikita that he voted green. Shankar as well as Monali wre really disappointed with Jidnesh’s performance and tell him that he has to work a lot harder on his notes. So, Afsana and Bannet are safe. Now a face-off between Shreyasi-Humsufi and Jidnesh-Nikita would decide who will go through to the next round.  Shreyasi and Humsufi perform Sukhwinder and Sapna Awathi’s ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ and score 82 per cent. Shankar Mahadevan, Monali and Diljit completely enjoy their performance. Nikita and Jidnesh have beat Shreyasi-Humsufi’s score of 82 per cent to qqualify to the next round. They perform Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit’s ‘Manwa Laage’ and score and amazing 89 per cent and qualify! Humsufi and Shreyasi have to, unfortunately, leave the show.
