On the second day of Duels Ki Takkar episode of Colors Rising Star, there are in all 8 contestants who would compete to get into final 16! In yesterday’s episode, Ameya, Vikramjeet, Diljot Qawwali group and Chelsi qualify for the next round of 16 top contestants. Anushka came for the promotion of her upcoming movie, Phillauri, with Diljit which is releasing on 24 March 2017. Tonight, first up are Nikita and Anmol. Nikita attempts Shreya Ghoshal’s ‘Ye Ishq Hai’ and she gets a very lukewarm response in the beginning but catches up later. Her voting meter stops at 92 per cent! Anmol has a tough target in front of him. He tries Sukhwinder Singh’s ‘Rut Aagayi Re’ and receives Shankar Mahadevan’s vote. Anmol’s rendition of the song is brilliant but by the time his voting closes, he is only able to garner 90 per cent. The experts are extremely upset because Anmol sung really well but according to the concept of the show, Nikita reaches the top 16.
Meiyang Chang and Raghav throw a challenge to the experts, where they have to sing a Hindi song in some other language. Shankar Mahadevan entertains the audience with the Marathi version of ‘Kuch Toh Hua Hai’. Diljit Dosanjh energises the atmosphere with his Punjabi version of ‘Why this Kolaveri D’. Monali Thakur attempts ‘Fevicol Se’ in Bengali and Raghav goes mad!
Next up are Nisha and Afsana, who are both from really unprivileged backgrounds. Afsana comes and sings Richa Sharma’s ‘Ni Main Samajh Gayi’. Shankar Mahadevan vote comes within some seconds, followed by Dilijt and Monali’s votes. Her voting meter stops at 90 per cent! Nisha attempts ‘Zindagi Mein Koi Kabhi Aye Na Rabba’ and somehow because of her nervousness, she falls 9 per cent short of her mark and gets only 81 per cent. So, among Afsana and Nisha, Afsana moves to top 16!
Ragdeep group and Shraddha and Ramesh are up next in Duels Ki Takkar. Ragdeep group performs first and attempt a medley and score 77 per cent. Experts reserve their comments after Shraddha and Ramesh’s performance. Ramesh and Shraddha attempt ‘Maar Diya Jaye Ya Chod Diya Jaye’ with Ramesh playing on three dholaks. They cannot make through and their voting stops at 62 per cent. Ragdeep group reaches the top 16 while Shraddha and Ramesh leave. Before Ramesh and Shraddha leave, Shankar requests Ramesh to play dholak for him once.
Jignesh and Deepesh are the surprise entry on the show. Jignesh attempts ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag’ hits 84 per cent mark. Deepesh has to raise the wall by scoring more than 84 per cent. Deepesh sings ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ but falters in the beginning itself and does not get any of the three experts’ votes. Jignesh goes to the next round with Ragdeep Group, Afsana and Nikita.
