Robert Downey Jr‘s Tony Stark is perhaps the most popular Marvel character. Well, reports indicate that the original Iron Man suit worn by the actor in the Marvel character’s first installment in 2008 has been reportedly stolen by some super villains. As per the Los Angeles Police Department, the maroon and gold suit worn by the star was reported missing on Tuesday from the Movie Prop Storage. According to the police officials, the suit was stolen from the prophouse sometime between Feb and April 25 this year.

An LAPD spokesperson told PEOPLE magazine, “It was reported by the storage facility that the prop was missing. It is considered a burglary.” The costume reportedly costs not less than $325,000. Downey donned the suit in the original Iron Man film, which was helmed by Jon Favreau. The movie reportedly earned $585 million at the overseas box offices. The film was a huge success at the BO also because it was the first installment of the multi-billion dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The news of the alleged burglary broke only after the franchise’s latest film, Avengers: Infinity Wars, hit screens on April 27. In the film Downey returns as Tony Stark.  The latest Avengers installment has the Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos, who’s on a mission to collect all the six Infinity stones. The film by and large received positive reviews from the critics, who were impressed by the cast, visual effects, emotional narrative of the story, and the power-packed action scenes, although the runtime of the film received severe criticism.
