In a major setback to Salman Khan, the Jodhpur Court has convicted the actor in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case and sentenced him to 5 years in jail. The actor is being taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail and the while his legal team progresses with the bail process, he only has time until tomorrow, otherwise will have to spend the weekend behind bars and only come out on Monday. The others involved in the case, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonali Bendre, accused for abetting the crime, have been set free.
Salman was accompanied by his sisters Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma at the hearing and while they were stressed when the their brother got convicted, the jail term hasn’t been any less than a shock. Celebs who have been divided about the verdict in the Salman Khan case. While some came in support of the star, some lauded the court for taking a bold decision against a mighty superstar. His Race 3 director Remo D’Souza had been hoping that the actor would finally get a closure from the case, but we are sure he will be disappointed as according to trade, his film will be the most affected due to Salman’s absence. Speaking at an event, Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde said, “These cases are small things in life, there are many other things. People like him, who is a really great person, should be away from all these things, these are really useless things. I wish everything gets over for him soon.”

Sameer Soni, husband of actress Neelam, one of the accused who was acquitted, said, “I am happy for Neelam. But I am disappointed for Salman Khan. I don’t know why he is being singled out. I think he is paying the price for being a star.”

Earlier, ahead of the verdict, Rani Mukerji had said during the success interviews of Hichki, “I always say this, my love will always be with him.”
As per recent reports, hearing in the bail application of Salman Khan – BlackBuck Poaching Case will take place tomorrow in Jodhpur Session Court. Till then, fans can still have a ray of hope.
