Mumbai, November 27: While Rahul Gandhi may think that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is not working, there is someone who does not just believe in it, but also makes efforts every month and religiously nominates people to take up the task of making India clean. Salman Khan is taking his responsibility as one of the nine original nominees of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, very seriously and has this month released a list of 100 new people that he has nominated to pick up the broom and get cleaning!
Salman posted the pictures on his Facebook page and also asked these people to send him proofs of the work they have done as a contribution to the camoaign. The nominees are supposed to submit their photos and videos of making efforts to make their surroundings clean, by November 30. The pictures an videos should clearly show the ‘before’ and ‘after’ situation of the place they have taken the responsibility of cleaning. Salman has in the past ellicited praise for prime minister Narendra Modi himself, for his consistent and dutiful efforts towards this end. During the shooting of his blockbuster film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman had organized a painting activity where the cast and crew of Bajrangi Bhaijaan had painted houses of the village in Maharshtra where they had been shooting. They were helped in the task by professional painters and had successfully painted each and every house in the village. Prior to that, he had also organized a clean up drive in Karjat. Salman had announced his plans on Facebook earlier this year. “The Honorable Prime Minister nominated me for the Swachh Bharat campaign and I have cleaned and painted three villages in Maharashtra so far. I intend to continue with this initiative, but Swachh Bharat is not about what one of us can do. It’s about what each of us can do”, he had said on Facebook.
