Salman Khan Finds Himself In Trouble Once Again Courtesy Loveratri, Hindu Outfit Announces Rs 2 Lakh Reward For Thrashing Him
And Salman Khan, Bollywood's controversial king, finds himself in trouble once again
Looks like Salman Khan is in a fresh round of trouble. Hindu outfits in parts of North India have reportedly been protesting against his upcoming film, Loveratri, that stars his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain in the lead. The film that has sparked a new round of controversy even before its release, has been bankrolled by the 52-year-old superstar. Last year, he had taken to Twitter to announce that this would be the fifth film he would be producing under his home production banner. Vishwa Hindu Parishad, (VHP) since last week has been threatening the superstar over the name of the film. As per them, the name of the film ie Loveratri has distorted the name of the holy festival, Navratri.
Not just VHP, but another organisation called Hindu Hi Aage has lately joined the protests declaring a reward to anyone who agrees to thrash Salman Khan. Govind Parashar, the head of the Agra unit of the organisation, has announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh to whoever agrees to thrash the actor in public. Furthermore, the Hindu Hi Aage leader appealed to the Censor Board to ban the film. The members of the cult Hindu outfit also set posters of Khan’s movies on fire and raised slogans against the upcoming film, Loveratri. Salman Khan, who seems to be Bollywood’s controversy kind, has found himself in trouble numerous times in the past and has also found himself in the midst of a lot of criticism.
‘Loveratri’, is a lovestory set in the backdrop of Gujarat. It is slated to release on October 5 this year, around the same time when Navaratri would be celebrated this year. Navratri is a nine-day festival when the nine avatars of Goddess Durga are worshipped. While the festival is celebrated all across the country, it is in Gujarat that the festival is celebrated with quite an aplomb. Well Loveratri is not the first film to face criticism on religious grounds. Deepika Padukone-Shahid Kapoor-Ranveer Singh starrer film, Padmaavat to faced a lot of opposition by the Karni Sena. Ultimately the name had to be changed from Padmavati to Padmaavat and the film was also banned in four states.
