Every year, on Independence day, celebrities and commoners alike take to social media to wish each other. Today being the 70th year since our nation attained freedom from the clutches of British Raj on August 15 1947 ,Bollywood’s popular names have been taking to the micro blogging site since morning in wishing the fraternity and the nation at large a very Happy Independence day. While earlier in the day, we shared a compilation of tweets of several celebs right from Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Dia Mirza to Baahubali star Rana Daggubati, we didn’t get a chance to tell you what the Dabangg star, Salman Khan, shared with his followers to wish them on this auspicious day. The 51-year-old superstar shared a morphed pic of him, and brothers Sohail and Arbaaz Khan, each wearing the colour of the Indian National Flag.
While Salman is seen wearing a saffron-coloured shirt, Sohail is seen wearing white and Arbaaz, green. The Tubelight actor captioned the pic as, “Emotionally dependent on Independence Day.” See Post below.

Well, the pic can be interpreted in many ways. First being that Salman could be equating his emotional dependency on his brothers to that of the three colours of the Indian National Flag that come together to make India as the nation we know. He could have also drawn parallels between the pic and the concept of nationality through the post. Perhaps he wanted to say that just like they are brothers, who are unique in their own way and still share a common bond that unites them, we are each unique in our own way, but still share a common bond, ie that we are all Indians. It is our ‘Indianness’ that binds us and makes us emotionally dependent on one another although we are so independent in our own respective individuality. Another thing that he perhaps wanted to convey was that, although we are so independent in today’s fast paced environment, let’s not stop being emotionally connected with our family and neighbours. It could also be that Salman didn’t put in so much thought behind the post and simply made a collage of the trio, each wearing T-shirts of the three Indian colours to wish everyone a very Happy Independence day in an unusual way.
