Sometimes, staying away for too long brings unexpected shocks. That’s exactly what happened with actress Sangeeta Bijlani. After months, she returned to her farmhouse near Pune, only to find it broken into, vandalised, and looted. What was once her peaceful getaway was now a scene of chaos.
What happened at the farmhouse?
Sangeeta Bijlani, a well-known Bollywood actor, recently visited her farmhouse in Tikona village near Pawna Dam in Maharashtra’s Pune district, after several months. What she found was far from normal.
In her complaint to Pune Rural Police, she stated that the main door was broken, window grills damaged, and many household items like beds, CCTV cameras, and a refrigerator were either stolen or destroyed. One television set was missing, and another was found damaged.

In her official complaint to Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill, Sangeeta wrote, “Today I visited the farmhouse along with two of my maid servants. Upon arrival, I was shocked and horrified to discover that the main door had been broken. Upon entering, I found the window grills were damaged, one television set was missing, while another was broken.”
She continued, “The upper floor was completely ransacked, all beds were broken, and many household items and valuables were either missing or destroyed.”
She also mentioned she couldn’t visit the farmhouse earlier due to her father’s health issues.
What are the authorities saying?
Senior Inspector Dinesh Tayde from Lonavala police station confirmed and said, “We will register an offence once the assessment of the damage and theft is completed.” A police team has already been sent to inspect the location and evaluate the losses.
